Should Women Break Up with Jordan Shoes

This is one of the nicest Jordan Shoes compliments I've ever been paid, but also turns my head upside down. The only other person I've ever heard people say this about is Jordan. Which means either I'm a stunning beauty (unlikely), the person was lying (hopefully also unlikely), or I've been laying on the slap thicker than Lily Savage (not true - I've never stooped to blue and pink eyeshadow together).Or it could mean one other thing - the most likely explanation, but also the most unbelievable - men really do prefer the natural look.Which goes against everything women are brought up to believe by society. As children we play with our Barbies, get glammed up in our pink party dresses and read fairytales where the heroine is always beautiful. The teenage girl who does not have something between an interest and an obsession with her appearance, spending hours on her makeup yet believing she is woefully unattractive, is a rarity. Although on the surface girls are encouraged to make the most of their intelligence and talents, underneath we are still made to feel that success must come with a pretty face. That it's great to be a straight A student, but it still doesn't mean you can go out of the house without makeup. And all this for air Jordan Shoes the men? That's the obvious answer, but I'd say it's only partly true.
It wasn't the look I'd have gone for if I'd thought I would bump into someone I wanted to see me looking nice . Hair untamed and loosely tied back; no makeup save for a quick slick of mascara; a jumper chosen for warmth rather than glamour (I sit by the air con in our office); and a pair of boots that cost six pounds, and you could tell.It's all right to look like this at work, where I hope I'll be judged on my ability rather than my appearance. But to run into one of my friends, someone I wanted to look good in front of? No, no, no. I should have been caked in cosmetics, coiffed to perfection and wearing shoes that weren't falling apart faster than Haringey Council's credibility.I panicked. Could I hide? It's also for the benefit of the rest of the female species, who tend to be the harshest critics of the sisters with whom they are supposed to show solidarity. So with every flick of the mascara wand, every sweep of the blusher brush, the naturally awkward among us make ourselves feel a little less inferior to the effortlessly beautiful girls we long to emulate. It's entertaining to give yourself green eyelids, blue eyelashes, pink cheeks and purple lips - though whether you'd want to leave the house wearing all of them at once is another matter. But maybe in light of my friend's comment, us girls should start worrying a little less. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - although then again, when it is ever wise to trust a man's opinion about anything?
